Other actions to prevent pest problems
The performance of all pest control products is always improved if their use is part of an integrated pest management (IPM) program, where other actions are taken to make conditions less conducive to pests. For flying pests inside the home, the use of fly screens will reduce occasional invaders and good garbage management will prevent flies breeding around the home, and will significant reduce the chances of a pest problem.

Insects spray directly will generally die within in a minute. As a surface spray treatment Pro-Spray Flying will provide residual protection for up to 3 months.
Safety Tips
The PestXpert range has been specifically designed for use around homes, where there will be children and pets present. When used in accordance with the label, the products can be applied safely with minimal impact on the environment (see point 4 below). In fact, the professional quality packaging allows the products to be applied more safely that standard consumer products, as they can be applied more accurately with less chance of accidental contact with the insecticide.
Nevertheless, safety should always be the number one priority and so before carrying out any pesticide treatment follow the following key steps
- Read the label. Make sure you understand application instructions and safety information.
- Wear appropriate safety clothing. If you are intending to do a lot of spraying, its a good idea to wear goggles and mask, especially if spraying above head height. Wash hands, arms and face after use.
- Prepare the treatment area. Make sure all foods, food surfaces, cutlery, crockery and glasses are covered. The area to be treated should be clear of obstacles.
- Fish and bee alert. Although PestXpert products are designed to have minimal impact on the environment, they will kill bees (as they are insects) and fish are also very sensitive to the insecticides used in PestXpert (and most other consumer products). To minimise bee deaths, avoid spraying flowers. To protect fish, cover fish tanks and ponds and avoid spraying or disposing of product into waterways.

If used correctly, PestXpert Pro-Spray Flying will not harm cats and dogs. There are some important notes:
- When spraying surfaces make sure pets are not in the room during the treatment and make sure it is dry before allowing pets to re-enter the room.
- When carrying out a space spray make sure pets are not in the room during the treatment and wait for the spray to have dissipated before allowing them to re-enter.
- DO NOT spray the product directly onto your pets. Speak to your vet regarding any pet treatment.
Yes, fly sprays have the potential to set off smoke alarms, especially if used as a space spray to treat flying insects in a room. If a smoke alarm is present in the room to be treated, it needs to be disconnected or the battery removed before starting the treatment.
When people say “immune” it is referring to insecticide resistance. Insecticide resistance occurs in insect populations which have been exposed to insecticides over a long period of time, which allows for variants naturally more resistant to insecticides to be favoured through natural selection. Overtime these variants build up in the population and give the impression that the products are less effective. There are some insecticide resistance populations of houseflies, but these tend to be concentrated in rural areas, particularly around chicken farms and piggeries.
