How to Use Pro-Spray Outdoor Perimeter
Do your own professional standard outdoor perimeter spraying to help stop crawling insects like cockroaches, spiders and ants entering your home or taking up residence in and around doors, windows and the eaves. Spraying on the outdoor surfaces where flies and mosquitoes rest, will help in controlling these flying pests.
Perimeter Treatment:

For a professional pest treatment, spray around the outside perimeter of your home. Don’t forget to spray around doorways, windows and eaves, drains and drain pipes. When spraying around the perimeter its always a good ideal to treat 1 m up the wall and 1 m out across paths and garden beds.

Target Entry Points:
Spray obvious entry points such as eaves, window sills, and cracks and crevices in the external walls. For inaccessible entry points, spray the surrounding area to kill insects when they emerge.
Target Active Areas:
Apply to insect nests or trails, spider webs, wasp nests and around garbage bins and any other areas where pests congregate or have been seen.
Outdoor Application Tips:
When spraying outdoors there are two important tips to maximise performance and maximise personal and environmental safety:
DO NOT apply outdoors if rain is expected within 24 hours.
DO NOT apply when temperatures are 30°C or higher, or during windy conditions.
Using on Plants and Lawns:
PestXpert Pro-Spray Outdoor Perimeter has been designed for use on plants (eg. to target mosquitoes) and lawns (eg. to target ants).
DO NOT apply when soil is dry and plants or lawn are suffering from moisture stress.
DO NOT apply to plants, fruit trees, vegetables or parts of plants that are to be eaten.
DO NOT spray if bees are feeding on flowering plants. Will kill bees.
Maintenance Treatment: If necessary, repeat treatment every 3 months or appropriate intervals to prevent re-infestation.
The performance of all pest control products is always improved if their use is part of an integrated pest management (IPM) program, where other actions are taken to make conditions less conducive to pests. For general pest treatments outside the home, keeping the areas adjacent to he building dry, and clear of plants and stored goods is essential.
Expected Performance
Pro Spray Indoor and Outdoor is designed to be a long lasting surface spray. The duration of protection depends on the exposure to sun and rain. The label states performance up to 3 months – in very exposed areas, it may only last a couple of weeks, in sheltered areas, it will last much longer.
Insects die after walking on the treated surface and picking up small amounts of insecticide. As they only pick up small amounts of insecticide and it’s in a dry form (which means it takes longer to enter the insect’s body), insects walking across the surface will take several minutes to die. (This is how all surface spray products work – the adverts you see fro some products showing cockroaches getting instantly zapper or being replied by a “force field” are somewhat misleading).
If you spray an insects or spider directly, as it’s a water based formulation, they don’t die “instantly” – it will take a couple of minutes for the insect or spider to die.
Safety Tips
The PestXpert range has been specifically designed for use around homes, where there will be children and pets present. When used in accordance with the label, the products can be applied safely with minimal impact on the environment (see point 4 below). In fact, the professional quality packaging allows the products to be applied more safely that standard consumer products, as they can be applied more accurately with less chance of accidental contact with the insecticide.
Nevertheless, safety should always be the number one priority and so before carrying out any pesticide treatment follow the following key steps
- Read the label. Make sure you understand application instructions and safety information.
- Wear appropriate safety clothing. As with many insecticide products the label states that you should avoid contact with skin and eyes, breathing in the spray and washing hands after use. The best way to avoid accidental contact is to wear appropriate safety clothing. PestXpert recommends wearing overalls (you can wash or dispose of), impervious gloves and shoes, googles, mask and hat (you can wash) – just like a professional.
- Prepare the treatment area. Make sure all foods, food surfaces, cutlery, crockery and glasses are covered. The area to be treated should be clear of obstacles.
- Fish and bee alert. Although PestXpert products are designed to have minimal impact on the environment, they will kill bees (as they are insects) and fish are also very sensitive to the insecticides used in PestXpert (and most other consumer products). To minimise bee deaths, avoid spraying flowers. To protect fish, cover fish tanks and ponds and avoid spraying or disposing of product into waterways.
- Keep pets and children clear during application and until the treatment is dried.
- Do not spray outside in windy conditions as you get get “spray drift” uncontrolled movement of insecticide spray.

Although PestXpert Pro Spray Outdoor Perimeter is designed to have low toxicity to humans and pets, it can still cause harm if accidentally inhaled or swallowed. The label has the following safety direction:

skin contact may cause temporary facial numbness. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Wash hands after use.
